Erasmus+ opportunities for Otago staff
Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme supporting education, training, youth, and sport. It provides mobility and cooperation opportunities across higher education, vocational training, schools (including early childhood education), adult education, youth, and sport sectors.
The University of Otago has Erasmus+ agreements with a number of European partner institutions, enabling the exchange of staff and students under the Erasmus+ framework.
Erasmus+ funding
Funding varies depending on the destination and duration of the visit. A typical Erasmus+ grant includes:
- €1,500 travel grant
- €1,280 lump sum for two travel days and five working days (€160/day)
Grants are paid directly to recipients in euros, often in cash. Successful applicants must complete a request for event attendance and travel approval form, outlining the total cost of travel, the Erasmus+ funding awarded, any shortfall, and how it will be covered.
